Top 5 Albums Mid-Year 2017

2017 has been a phenomenal year for music.  So many amazing projects have been released this year and I wanted to share some of my favorite albums that have comet so far.  Please feel free to share your favorite albums and let us know what you think of the list.

Jay-Z- 4:44

Jay-z released one of the most honest, introspective albums in recent years.  It is a breathe of fresh air in time when a lot of music is expendable. The importance of this record is significant, when you see the totality and the messages presented.  The messages conveyed in this record are important to people, specifically black people in 2017.

Fin – Syd

When Syd announced her debut project, I didn’t know what to expect as I have never heard Syd without the internet.  But after I checked out the project, I was immersed in the beautiful sounds and melodies of this project.  It surprised me how often I go back and listen to this project.  It is definitely worth your time.

DAMN – Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar has been one of the, if not the biggest name in Hip-Hop in recent years. Many people wondered how he would top his last album To Pimp A Butterfly.  No one knew what direction he would be going for his latest effort.  I wasn’t a big fan of To Pimp A butterfly.  But Damn. easily became one of my favorite albums this year, the production along with Kendrick’s amazing rapping ability and concepts made this a no-brainer for this list.
